PSCC DIVISIONS

Using 2025 iPride Ratings
2025 iPride Ratings are used to qualify players for division play in the 2026 PSCC.  There are NO ratings protests. However, the tournament Director may move teams to ensure a positive tournament experience for all.

For those players who do not have a 2025 iPride rating, their 2026 rating will be acceptable.  Please contact the tournament Director for any players that do not have an iPride rating for instructions on how to proceed.
*We expect all Team Managers to ensure all players to have an accurate and fair iPride Rating.

Participation and Inclusion
Full tournament rules will be released soon. There will be minimum playtime expectations for every team member.

Divisions at the PSCC

FLEX points  are intended to be used for age, disability, inclusion, recovery, or team needs such as pitchers and coaching.

The PSCC uses a WESA-led division model with iPride alignment to help teams understand where they fit.

Our divisions balance:

  • Player ratings
  • Team composition
  • Real team play dynamics
  • Goal of 10 teams per division

The goal: competitive games for every team

>>> COMMUNITY (E) Developing & Entry-Level Play

  • Rating Limit: 6 (+ Flex available). Team Cap 51
  • Focus on participation, learning, and growth
  • Supportive, inclusive environment

Best Fit: New players • Recreational teams • Mixed-experience rosters
Comparable to: iPride E

Flex Points: 1

>>> INTERMEDIATE (D) Balanced Team Play

  • Rating Limit: 7 (+ Flex available). Team Cap 72
  • Developing to experienced players
  • Emphasis on fair competition and positional play

Best Fit:  Established recreational teams • Developing competitive teams
Comparable to: iPride lower–mid D

Flex Points: 3

>>> COMPETITIVE (Upper D). Core Players Rated 8–10

With flex for up to 4 C-rated players (max rating 13). Team Cap 107

Best Fit:

  • Established D teams
  • Teams that play together
  • Teams seeking higher competition with C-player inclusion

Comparable to: iPride strong D / D+

Flex: up to four C-rated players with a max 13 rating

Balancing Competition

To ensure fair and competitive play across all divisions:

  • Team Cap = Top 10 players only
  • Community Team Cap: 51
  • Intermediate Team Cap: 72
  • Competitive Team Cap: 107
  • Flex applies to player ratings, not the cap
  • Only points above the rating limit count

Flexibility & Inclusion

Flex points support inclusive participation across all teams.

Flex may be applied for:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Inclusion
  • Injury or recovery
  • Team composition needs

How it works:

  • Applied to individual player ratings
  • Does not increase team caps

Examples:

  • Community: 1 flex point (one player per team may have an iPride rating of 7)
  • Intermediate: 3 flex points (3 players with an iPride rating of 8, or one 8 and two 9s, or one 10)
  • Competitive: Up to 4 C-rated players (max rating 13)

The PSCC is more than a tournament — it’s part of a full Pride celebration.

FAQS

How do I choose the right division?

Start with your core player ratings and team experience:

  • New or mixed teams → Community (E)
  • Developing teams → Intermediate (D)
  • Established teams (8–10 core) → Competitive (Upper D)

If unsure, we’ll help you find the right fit.

What does “flex” mean?

Flex allows teams to include players who are slightly above the division rating limit.

It exists to support:

  • Inclusion
  • Accessibility
  • Real team composition

How does flex work in each division?

  • Community: 1 flex point (e.g., one player at 7)
  • Intermediate: 3 flex points shared across players (e.g., one player at 10 or three players at 8 etc.)
  • Competitive: Up to 4 C-rated players (max rating 13)

Does flex increase our team cap?

No.

  • Team caps are fixed (Top 10 players)
  • Flex only applies to player ratings

What does “Team Cap” mean?

Your top 10 players’ ratings are totaled:

  • Community: 51
  • Intermediate: 72
  • Competitive: 107

Only points above the rating limit count toward the cap.

What if our team plays together regularly?

Teams that regularly play together and have strong chemistry should consider:

Competitive (Upper D)

Can teams be moved between divisions?

Yes.

The tournament committee may adjust placement to ensure:

  • Competitive balance
  • Meaningful games
  • Positive experience for all teams

Is Competitive a C division?

No.

It is a strong D division with limited C-player inclusion.

From which year are player ratings used?

2025

For players who are from member leagues of International Pride Softball (iPride), the process of determining your iPride ratings is simple.  We simply confirm the rating submitted matches that on record for 2025.  If a player is new to the league, then the 2026 rating is used.

For teams with players from outside iPride, your team manager is responsible for submitting fair and accurate ratings by the deadline.  We can help you with this.  WESA has experienced volunteers who can talk you through the ratings questions.

Have more questions?  We are happy to help.  Please direct your questions to Tournament Director, Patrick King vicecommissioner@gmail.com
