"Enhancing Safety: WESA Introduces AEDs for a Secure 48th Season at Strathcona Park"
We’re excited to announce an important enhancement to WESA’s safety equipment as we kick off our 48th Season!
Each of our three diamond fields at Strathcona Park—Northwest, Centre, and Southwest—will now be equipped with a
Philips HeartSmart FRx Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- These AEDs will be conveniently housed in the green equipment bins alongside our new Hazmasters First Aid Kits (generously donated by member Joel Dixon—thank you, Joel, for your generosity and support!).
- The Philips AEDs are lightweight, portable, and user-friendly, featuring clear voice instructions and CPR guidance to assist anyone in an emergency.

While we hope these devices remain unused, it’s vital to be prepared for any potential cardiac situations at the park.
We kindly ask that all members keep the equipment bins closed when unattended to ensure our equipment remains secure and available for its intended purpose.
In the event of a medical emergency, remember that you can help in other ways, such as calling 9-1-1, clearing the area, and guiding emergency personnel to the scene.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the AEDs, feel free to reach out to Trevor S. at Equipment (at) WESA.net, or Gord A. at RulesAndRegulations (at) WESA.net.
Stay safe, and let’s have a great season!
