Ready for Opening Day!? Please check out these additional notes for tomorrow. We know it's a lot to take in... but important to know! Thank you for your attention.

Vancouver Sun Run 

Reminder that the Vancouver Sun Run is tomorrow. We suggest that you to look up the Sun Run schedule and route, etc. so you can choose the best option for yourselves to be on time to the games.

Porta-Potty

We now have a Porta-Potty at each of the Celebrities Nightclub CTR Diamond, and the Junction Public House PumpJack NW Diamond! The park's field house building with the washrooms should continue to be used at the Fountainhead Pub SW Diamond!

All assigned field set-up and take-down teams will have the responsibility of respectively unlocking & locking up
the toilet with a key provided for in the closest equipment bin to the porta-potty.

Garbage

We all can do it! You can help! Please let's together minimize our waste @ Strathcona Park! 

We suggest that you always please take your trash & recyclables with you out of the park to be properly disposed of! It is up to us to have our own WESA trash solution.

Alcohol & Other

A friendly reminder that City of Vancouver Bylaws require that no alcoholic beverages are to be dispensed, sold, or consumed on the park at any time in accordance with sections 73, 74 & 75 of the British Columbia Liquor Control and Licensing Act.

This is a condition of the League's Vancouver Park Board playing permits. 

Please also refer to the WESA Code of Conduct section in the WESA's Governing Manual here at Rules & Resources > WESA Governing Manual. 

This is--to clarify and remind--to "Not be on the field of play while inebriated, nor have open alcohol or inebriating substances in the dugout or on the field of play during a game or practice."

For all of the above, let's please continue to demonstrate to the Strathcona community that we all can be responsible and good community citizens while we play softball in their neighbourhood!

46th Season Opening Day Stuff

• 11:30AM | Opening Ceremonies @ Celebrities Nightclub CTR Diamond | including recitation of WESA oaths; First Pitch; and our Annual League Group Photo—let's make this season's the biggest group photo yet! 
• 5:00PM | Opening Day Party @ PumpJack Pub | WESA 2024 Members get queue privilege wearing their 2024 Jersey (subject to capacity).

Game Cancellations

If there is rain forecasted overnight Saturdays or early Sunday mornings, we will strive to update and "make the call" by 7:00AM for the scheduled 9:00AM games. Everyone should receive an email notification via TeamLinkt if your game is cancelled. 

WE will also have field conditions updated close to the bottom of the homepage. 

Later game times will be cancelled as required, with as much notice given as possible. 

Please know that games are not cancelled specifically due to rain, but rather "unsafe field conditions". Please do not assume that games are cancelled if it is raining.
