The
West-End Slo-Pitch Association
was started in 1978
when gay and lesbian sports minded, fun-loving people gathered
on Sunday afternoons at Lord Roberts School playground.
The
leauge has continued to grow over the years, with a record 15
teams
and over 200 members in our
D Division and C Division - we are bigger and better than ever.
WESA
organizes not only softball games but many social events for the
membership and gay community.
The
season runs from the end of April to the end of July or early
August each summer. Regisration is held in February/March each
spring for the up coming season.
Players
register as individuals or with a friend, and teams are drafted
each season. Team registrations are not accepted.
Since
2008, WESA has been part of the North
American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance. NAGAAA organizes the
Gay Softball World Series each year and brings together over 40
participating cities amd pver 5,000 participants and fans.
Playing
softball is a great way to get out and enjoy the summer in a fun
filled way. Meet some new friends and play some ball.
